Mothers Arms

Home so far tonight

I walk

Feet bare

soul worn

i crawled

steady arms to catch me

trust in the midst of despair

you stroked my hair

shame masked my face

tears streaked my cheeks

my chin you lifted

tears you wiped

you hummed to me a lullaby

In your arms I am safe

not so worn

 i have found peace

 I heal

  mothers arms surround me

 shield me lift me up

I heal

in a whisper i hear

“sweet child you are home”
