Young friend

Young man with your smile so bright do you not think ive not been here in the night?
The way you twist your words to suit your fears how you make jokes to seem insincere

Your eyes they do not lie in your touch you cant hide
I was here for years before you

While you travel the world collecting stars
I built my life out of matchsticks and scars

The fire you hide my dear will not ignite my heart
So I will give you just enough of my warmth my smile,Toss foolish banter and when you leave I will keep my heart

I will wait for the fire and gasoline…
