In my ear you whispered our dreams
Your heart touched mine
In the rain you held my hand
Our lips touched our hearts cried
I was yours and you were mine
In your eyes I found warmth
Embraced in your arms charmed by our love
I was yours and you were mine
Now only the wind whispers in my ear
scars are all that’s left of where our hearts meet
I was yours and you were mine
and I cried
I like the structure of this poem… it reminds me of Seamus Heaney’s ‘Boy Driving His Father to Confession’ (you should check it out if you don’t know it) just with the ‘then’ and ‘now’ shift. Nice work. 🙂
Thank you I am familiar that piece you are very kind
That’s so cool, Heaney wrote a lot about personal experience as well which is really cool. Keep up the good work! 🙂
